I see they don't lose that black circle on their butt do they. and here i was thinking it was a sign of premolt ;) She's getting her red legs! mine has a few more molts to do that yet.

I was surprised how much it's grown and yes, the red legs are starting to show but the black circle is still there. It's a 5th instar now if that helps you judge when yours will colour up.

T ockerti molted in the last few days as (s)he just threw exo out and is stretched out like a pokie on her bark.
Exo shredded naturally so still clueless on gender.

EXCITEMENT! found my LP just lounging out on her back and...oh...WAIT!!! SHE'S MOLTING YAAAY haha can't wait to see her all fresh and pretty!! This is her first molt with me since I rescued her. Now to pray to the arachnogods to save me a clean molt so I can accurately identify her as a her. Go Olive Go shed that exoskeleton!!!!

UPDATE: Well the arachnogods didn't hear my prayer that or Olive just didn't want me looking at her lady bits or lack there of. She chewed off the abdomen of her molt just at the place where you'd look for the little pouch (can't remember the dang name haha) and now she's in there hardening up laughing at me. But those pink hairs and beautiful black fur are in full show. Will have pictures soon.

Wait! Can you spread that a little more. Looks almost like it might be just below?! Can't quite see it though!

I did there is nothing. So either Olive is male or she literally severed it at JUST the right spot lol. It cuts off right between the lower book lungs

Avicularia sp. Peru purple molted sometime...recently. I just noticed exo legs at the front of her tube web today so it couldn't have been too long ago. Very exciting! Now all 5 of my new babies have molted in my care since I got them in June! Now if only I can get another one out of them before it gets cold I'll be stoked.

feeding night last night, found a few new molts :)

Inca, my A. sp .Peru Purple was rehoused last week, and liked her new home so much she molted in it. Her legs (without the flash) have that translucent look and she's still all cuddled up so i'm guessing she's just freshly molted.

Next, my G. pulchra Satin molted. I'm guessing tuesday as he's starting to darken up again like he was before premolt.

Savage, the A. genic also molted, we went to feed him and saw a few too many legs in his hide.

2 other molts i couldn't get pics of. My son's G. pulchra - Black, and his A. versicolor - Raven molted. Raven must have molted on Tuesday, her fangs were pink when we checked her last night while feeding. Couldn't get a pic of Black, he'd pushed his molt out and burrowed under again. My son pulled the molt out to take a pic and sneezed, not sure where the molt is now. They sure do float on the wind well when they're that small ;)

I'm starting to wonder now if my son just forgot to pull the old molt out. Savage molted on 6/23, this seems like a little to quick for another molt. His past molts have been 2/14, 4/11, and 6/23. So is 6/23 to 7/19 to soon? or do the A. genics go through a growth spurt like some species? I'd guess he's about 3.5" now give or take.

Stromatopelma calceatum, Peanut, has moulted today. The old exo is next to the water bowl and you can just see Peanut's legs in the entrance to its burrow on the left of the container
