@Fuzzball79 All fingers and toes crossed for you both
Thanks, I think I might lose it this time. It's been at least 9 hours and no progress. It's still alive because when I gently blew on it the front legs twitched, but I'm afraid it might not be able to moult and I can only keep it warm and moist(ish). It's not webbed at all since the last moult, so I think there was definitely something wrong with it internally (husbandry had not changed and no external influences like mites and co or temperature and humidity changes). Maybe it's just one of those things :(.

@Fuzzball79 All you can do is hope that it succeeds. I learnt the hard way when I was breeding snakes that some are just not meant to survive no matter what you do and the problem with Ts is there is so little you can do to help.

@Fuzzball79 I've had no experience of it so I can't really help other than maybe gently wiping it over with a damp cotton bud or soft brush it the hope it will soften the old exo.

Thank you, I've tried that. Also put a tiny droplet of water around its mouth, but it just sat there. I'm wondering whether it tried to climb and simply fell over and can't get back up as opposed to molting!? I'm leaving it for now. I'd just hate to have it die slowly.

@Fuzzball79 That to me is the worst thing about keeping Ts, there is so little that you can do to help them. Keep me up to date and I'll be thinking of you both. I'm waiting for my little Avic to moult again in the hope it will have a full compliment of legs.

I fear that my poor P. met spiderling is suffering from symptoms of DKS. I don't know the cause, it's often blamed on environmental or food contamination, but the sling is kept in the same area and was fed the same as the others whom are fine.
Last I reported he had been on his back for over 24 hours. Since then he surprised me by sitting the right way up again 2 mornings ago. I genuinely thought he was gone at one point, because during my attempts to keep him hydrated, there was no reaction, but then the legs started twitching again. He's neither eating, drinking or moving, so to make it easier to monitor his fluid intake, I've just moved him back into ICU. I made him move a couple of steps, and lo behold, he throws the legs he can kind of control up in the air with jerky movements.
There is no fight left in him, he didn't try to run away or attack the cotton bud. I think, it's basically palliative care for him from now on :(.

P.S: I wonder whether his "molt" position was down to a seizure which made him flip over?

@Fuzzball79 I've been wondering how he was doing. The way I understand it, DKS is a symptom of other things rather than an ailment in itself but I can't see that you can do any more than you have already done to help. Fingers crossed he pulls through.

B. smithi, Pico, has moulted today. I was cleaning and filling water bowls and it had moulted in the bowl, good job there wasn't much water in it.

Starting to get some colour in those legs.

Ha ha, your Smithi does the same as my Boehmei: Fills the water bowl with substrate!

My Female H.Incei does the same either fills with substrate or webs over the water bowl.

@Fuzzball79 and @sym I have have a few that do it but my C. schioedtei has completely hidden its bowl, I have no idea where it is in all its web and tunnels so now I just water its web.

@Fuzzball79 .. It's not that long ago since it moulted last.. It doesn't get over fed. The temps are bang on also ..
Interested to see what it looks like next week :)
I didn't mist its enclosure this time round as the substrate was already damp fresh out of the bag..
