I was in shock about the fact that: "The ‘spider-hunting wasp’ is the most deadly enemy of the tarantula. Known as the ‘tarantula hawk’, it is usually much smaller than the tarantula, yet ventures into the spider’s burrow and manages to paralyze it with its sting. It then drags the spider back to its own burrow and keeps it to provide a fresh supply of food for its larvae."

Yes. We actually have at least one or two members who have saved / at least tried to save a wild, more or less paralysed tarantula after it had got stung by tarantula hawk

I've seen this a few times in West Australia. They prey on huntsman spiders more than anything.

This one i found dragged this spider roughly 20 feet before i had to stop watching and leave for work.

Thanks! Yea the wasps are quite large and they seem to target the smaller huntsmans. Ive seen some huge huntsmans, the one this wasp had was fairly small.

Gotta love nature!
