Unexpected Birthday present....my first A. avic

Thank you both for your very quick responses. I thought I was right about there being too much moisture in there for Trixie. I managed to put Trixie into a temporary container....which was fun lol...and dried out the cup, poked some holes in and put some dry substrate, a piece of cork bark and a...

Unexpected Birthday present....my first A. avic

Hi there, Well as the title says, I received my first ever A. versicolour species as a slightly early and unexpected birthday present. It's a lovely little thing and I've named "her" Trixie-Martini lol. I do have a few questions about Trixie though... 1) I'm guessing that Martiniquez Pink Toe...

    Feeding problem with G Pulcheripes

Hi there, Apologies for not being on here for ages - had a lot going on at the moment. I am getting slightly worried about my Spiderling G Pulcheripes "Zoe". Zoe is about the size of a 5p coin (UK) including the legs. S/he is very active and everything, but s/he doesn't seem to eat...

Glad I'm not the only one

I started with a B. Auratum last April (be a year in about 6 days) and then this year extended my time with 3 more...a semi-adult E. parvulus and my latest additions 2 slings...G rosea and G pulchripes. I'm only after one more and that's a B smithi...then I have the 5 I want (and what my parents...

Onto my 4th...but also a question?

Thanks Payden King, going to order a smaller one now. I must admit I was a bit surprised that I got both T's from the same shop in 1 after another (with a week in-between) and Zoe is in a completely different sized container when Smidge is in the correct container now. But I guess that's shops I...

Onto my 4th...but also a question?

Hey there, Well....so much for waiting 6 months lol... I'm now on my 4th tarantula lol - a Grammostola pulchripes It's a little bit bigger than my other spiderling, and it's one of the ones I've had my eyes on before I got Mystery...but it's so cute. I have called it Zoe and the reason...

Mystery, Truffle and Smidge's Photo Thread

I'm glad you like the photos. I will hopefully try and get some more photos done tomorrow as I rehoused Truffle into a slightly bigger tank and it's nicely decorated (like Mystery's) and Truffle's already started webbing a small amount.

    OK....wasn't expecting this....

It's about the same size as yours...possibly smaller (photo in picture ablum - Mystery, Truffle and Smidge's Photo Thread). I'm going to try that method though - thanks x

Mystery, Truffle and Smidge's Photo Thread

Hello, As some of you know already, I have had Mystery (Brachypelma auratum) since April last year, but I've now got 2 more, Truffle (Eauthlus parvulus) and Smidge (Grammostola rosea). To make it easier for me to have one thread instead of separate threads of each Tarantula lol. OK.... First...

    OK....wasn't expecting this....

But my best mate has just come over with a tiny G. rosea sling for me! I've now named it "Smidge" as it's really tiny. The only thing is...I've never had a sling before and I am really worried I won't be able to give it the best care like I do with Mystery (B auratum), who is a juvenile and...

    Planning 2nd Tarantula...choices...choices

OK - first of all, many apologies as I picked up my tarantula on Tuesday, but within half an hour of getting it, I ended up in hospital with stomach cramps. As I said, I did pick it up, but the choice was completely off from the voting scale as I fell in love with a semi-adult Eauthlus...

    Planning 2nd Tarantula...choices...choices

I am actually hoping to pick up a new little addition tomorrow as I am going into a good tarantula shop in the morning. Still don't know what I want yet, but I am bordering for another terrestrial type...so either G. pulcheripes , B. smithi, G. rosea (porteri). I am so excited and will...
