same with me and roaches. I don't mind crickets, but when a roach grabs my finger and starts running up it it just sends chills down my back. I can't handle that. Probably why i've had a few escapes, i flick them off and then have to catch them lol.
I've had no escapes yet, but I am sleeping with a telephone book, just in case I need to go bug squishing during the night :p:cool:. I've not had the pleasure of trying cockroaches yet, I'm dreading that day already o_O

silkworms are my staple. Jade is a shy eater and Fireball will eat anything.
I was recommended trying Zoltan on worms first, and build up to trying bigger things as time went on, but he seems happy enough diving in head first and going for the big fry :):T:

That's probably the best quote I've ever heard :p but It must have some truth in it, I can imagine a little meal worm isn't really much fun to eat...Little Zoltan is due a feed tomorrow, as it's been over a week, and I'm interested to see how he goes for it this time round!:T:
Hope Zoltan was in full on hunting mode ☺

UPDATE: Well, he seems to have done it again! He took the cricket down so quickly that I didn't have a chance to get any pictures. I just dropped it in there and let him do his thing, definitely seems to enjoy the chase! :D:T:

I'd bet a sixer she'd eat a lateralis, none of mine will eat dubia anymore either. Even the GBB that used to eat them like candy throws a pose and backs off from them now. Drop a lateralis in there and it's game on.
Ewwwww! They look like bedamned house roaches! And what I'm reading says they are invasive? Nopenopenope! -does threat pose-
I'll breed horrid crickets first :(

No more invasive than the dubia if you let them escape. I've had a number of them escape, but they've all been caught or found dead. And so far only adult males or unknown juvies and pinhead have escaped. And only as singles so there's no chance they could breed and take over.

Just be cautious and they'll be fine.
