Hi all, can someone confirm if I have a male or female?

I think I see a flap here, but too small to tell for my level of expertise.
Molt is about 5.5/6cm.
Also…I assume the urticating hairs from a molt can be just as irritating as when kicked fresh from the butt. Should I be careful handling the molt??
