Trani is fresh from molt and I am loving the red legs. I was not able to take some photos though.

My A sp. Amazonica finally molted. It's still hiding though only see some considerably bigger looking feet stick out occasionally.
Versicolor still hasn't flipped over yet, but keeps doing her premolt rounds around her tank.

:confused:am I the only idiot that feels an overwhelming sense of protectiveness when they are lieing there like that?
They are usually so capable that something inside me just melts when they are so helpless during a molt.
...Yes I know I'm being silly, :/ But I feel like I should be standing over them protecting them somehow

I know what you mean. It's such a huge relief when they flip back over and start stretching those "new" legs. And then another huge wave of relief when the first meal is consumed (my Amazonica finally took the small wax worm that had been stuck in its web since yesterday).
I find it's worse with the very small ones (only really my A. amazonica now) and the larger females. The ones "in between" (G. Actaeon, L. Parahybana, GBB. T. Gigas and B. Boehmei - all grown on slings/juveniles) don't have me worrying so much, probably because they molt and "recover" quite fast and don't look as fragile anymore.

@Kymura You're not the only one. When I do my checks, if I find one moulting or just having moulted, I move its container to the front so I can keep an eye on it. :D

Not silly. You care....I feel the same. I get annoyed when I miss them tbh. Found my A.Purpurea had molted when I was feeding earlier today and had missed that Really annoyed about it....lol. mind you, sometimes whether you watch over them or not, does not always go your way. My GBB molted last week and had a relay rough time the poor old girl.

Do I just soak it in warm water for half an hour?
warm water with a couple drops of Dawn or similar dish soap is what i do. Only takes a few minutes to soak in so you can unroll the abdomen, at least on mine smaller juvies anyway.

My "A. Hentzi" recently molted into a possible Aph. steindachneri , according to Rick West. I just need Ken The Bug Guy to tell me what locale he caught them in, then maybe I can get an accurate I.D This is fun and interesting! The T looks exactly like pics of A. Steindachneri that I've seen. The next molt might be even more telling.

Just put few drops of this mixture on the abdomen and let it soak in for a few minutes.
