Question Regarding Preservation of Deceased Tarantula

Although I placed my recently deceased tarantula into a sealed mason jar filled with isopropyl alcohol, there seems to be a white paste that is on the bottom of the dead tarantula's cephalothorax. Does that mean that I need to replace the isopropyl alcohol?

Sounds like you didn't prep it correctly. Here's a good guide to properly prepare and make a wet specimen.

Maybe for next time, you could try casting it in resin. My fiance has preserved hundreds of spiders, insects, and small fish this way. Some of the color fades over time, but it's a great way to display them, especially for smaller specimens.
