Hi there I need some advice badly my tarantula got stuck in his old eskeleton so I tried to help but it's seem to make him worse he looks like he's dying slowly all I did was try to help, I seen that tarantulas can get dehydrated so I dripped a few drops of water near his fangs and he moves the slightest bit like he's struggling badly:/ don't know what to do I need advice quickly please I don't want him to die he's only a juvenile:/ there must be a way to save him because he's still alive only just!

You are doing what you can. Keep dropping some water on fangs if he is unable to move to the water dish. Mist the sides of the container so that a bit more humidity is in the tank but don't over do it. Hope the little fella makes it, keep warm and mainly in the dark so less stressful. Good luck please tell us how he gets on. Welcome to the forum, shame it is starting on a sad note but I hope you have much better experiences with us.

There are a couple videos u can watch on youtube that might help. but im sorry to say that bad molts happen sometimes. and the prognosis is usually not good. Also u might want to think about getting the humidity up in the enclosure slightly if u r expecting a molt. what kind of tarantula is it?

Thankyou Phil I tried putting a few more drops on his fangs it does work most of the time which I'm finding really strange, I do not have any mist spray annoyingly:/ I don't really know what to do now I do not want to hurt him by disturbing him or dripping water on his fangs but I don't want to just sit here and watch him slowly die, not long ago he moved again the tiniest bit after i put a drip on his fangs so He is still not dead yet but looks like he's painfully dying any other suggestions? or should I wait until tomorrow to see what he's like?
Entity where are these videos by any chance please ? can't find that much about what's happened, yeah I know bad molts happen and it happened to mine he couldn't get out of his old eskeleton so I tried helping abit but I don't think I should of I made it worse:/ it says to try to help them so I did that's all but didn't exactly work. The humidity should of been fine because he's molted 2 times without it happening and it is a Mexican Red Knee that I have now lost I'm pretty sure I have:( don't know what to do I'm just going to have to leave him it looks like:/

The only thing I could suggest if you don't have a spray would be to use a soft brush or cotton bud, moistened and gently brush water on that way.

Sadly these things happen. I lost 2 of my juvis back in January under similar circumstances, there's often nothing you can do.

Yeah I know it is quite common for the body to get stuck and they die slowly that sadly just happened to happen to mine:/ I couldn't sit there and watch him die when I could of atleast try to help even if it doesn't work which it didn't its better to try obviously do you think I done the right thing?

I tried to help because I clearly seen him trying to get out of his old skin but it was failing so I had to do something because I read up that tarantulas are quite common for that to happen and it way longer then it should be just over a day pretty much, which he should take a few hours so I was trying to help him I don't think he would of made it anyway if I left him alone I could clearly tell the molt didn't go to plan.

Oh right no where I read really says that I should of waited to be on the safe side I didn't have a clue what to do it's my first one but It was clear he was stuck so I tried helping. He still has quite abit to go that's why I was getting confused it is way longer then it should but I was checking up on him now and then and I seen him struggling to get out:/ there is nothing I can do now tho He ain't moving at all I think he may be dead will just wait until tomorrow to see if he recovers I doubt it but there might be a chance

I think I'd leave him alone. Stressing him could make things worse for him.
