I am reading a study on argiope argentata and argiope armula. Both males mature ant 7th to 8th instar. Female mature at 13th to 15th instar. They also found that the web is made different in male and female. The last thing was that of they move them to an enclosure that they can not make there normal sized web, they will not make a web at all. I know I said the last thing above bit there is on more thing if they capture a moth they will not warp it. Instead they molt it in the fangs until it is dead. Before warping; this is thought to have evolved as moth can escape the wrap.
Does any one else find the interesting.

I'm only familiar with the Argiope aurantia which is common around my house.
I do actually find it interesting however, as I have watched them web fresh caught food
and am now wondering if this species does that as well,.
We always have a couple take up residence on our porch so I'm going to take notice come spring.
