Hi everyone,
I’ve recently gotten my first T, G. pulchripes, it’s a 1/2” sling. When I got her from the pet store she was in a deli cup (still is). It’s 2” deep and diameter is 3” and she has about 1.5” of substrate (eco earth) with a little plastic leaf and a few bits of spagnum moss on one end. I was planning on rehoming her into an acrylic container (not too big since I read I shouldn’t go more than 3x her size at this age).
However, I haven’t seen her in two weeks. I think I’ve noticed the substrate change a bit, I’m assuming she’s fine and just buried since they’re fossorial at this age. I’ve been leaving pre-killed crickets 2x week but she hasn’t eaten (I have tried with live, left it 24 hr but she also didn’t eat).
I really wanted to rehome her but I read it might stress her out and kill her if I dig her up. But I’m worried about the humidity in the deli cup. I’ve been spraying once every few days which I think is too much (mostly when I notice the mist on side disappears)? But I’m scared since she’s not eating and doesn’t have a water dish (I don’t have a small enough one to even fit in the cup) that she’s dehydrated and will die
I know I should be patient and she’s probably fine and can go months without me seeing her or eating, this is probably just new keeper anxiety I guess, but I’m scared the humidity in the deli cup is too high when I spray or too low the mist dries up. I don’t know how to humidify just the bottom of the substrate. I don’t know if anyone has words of wisdom about this or I really just gotta take a deep breathe and wait it out?
