I have a B hamorii sling over 2yrs old and was wondering if the substrate should b alittle moist. It has a bottle cap water dish in the enclosure. I hear conflicting answers whether or not to wet down the substrate. I know the adults like it dry is that the same for the slings?

I've done it both ways with many Brachypelma and many Grammostola over many years. Both ways work fine for me and produce a healthy adult in time. I've learned a lot more in the last year here, and my preference now is to keep the substrate mostly dry, and over flow the water bowl once a week for all Brachypelma. Tiny tiny slings get just a little bit of dampness, but at two years old, they get mostly dry except that corner with the water dish.
