I'm thinking of trying a communal. now I have found tons of info on 'balfouris' and 'pokies' but are there any other species that can be kept together successfully?

Balfouris are pretty much your solid choice, except if you have a lot of money to spend on replacing the Ts that will end up being snacks. Use the search tool, we had recently quite a few posts/threads about the same subject. Break a leg my friend.
