I'd say male. You can see a patch of EF on the furrow.

Was hoping it was a female. But at 5 inches it must be ready to mature if a male.

How big do males get of this species?


I have a penult male boehmi thats 5" or bigger.

is there any key factors to look for to tell if they are penult or not?

Only thing I can think of in this species is size. Usually 4.5" or bigger is what I'd consider penult. Not saying it's impossible for them to mature at a smaller size but I've never had it happen.

Nice, he will be a big boy then. I will try to get better pics tomorrow. Maybe it will mature within the year and I can find him a female.
