That would be my guess. Aphonopelma are so common in Arizona, NM and Mexico, I'm sure southern California has a great population. Commonly known as Arizona Blonds, Desert Blonds and Mexican Blonds. I've had a few and they looked more like yours. They are usually called "Browns" as the "Blonds have a much more blond abdomen. Very docile spider. I love them, not much color but everyone should have a couple, super friendly.

My t is really brown, blends in with dirt. Good pic tho the only thing that is different is the blonde
