Yeah I'm in England and they want £70 for her and set up
I am in England too and £70 is too much even with an enclosure. You can get them much cheaper than that PM me if you like and I can suggest a couple of places.

Check out the spider shop online. Im from england and thats where i get mine from, fair prices, always a good range of Ts from slings to adults plus equipment and supplys. Ive bought from a couple other places too but the spider shop is the best one by far in my opinion.

That was one of the sites I would recommend too. Tarantula Bristol is usually OK too. Word of warning when buying mature females from the on line breeders, they are either a) bred a lot and then moved on or b) have not been able to produce a sac so IMHO always look for the smaller Ts which are sexed from a moult rather than the ones shown as AF (adult females). I may be a bit cynical here but with a small one you usually get it cheaper and so can keep them longer win win. We should get a UK network going, there are a few other prominent UK members on this forum and could look to future swaps/breeding programmes, sharing knowledve etc.

If recommend a GBB as more of a 2nd tarantula. A little too quick and skittish for an ideal 1st one. I personally feel that most noobs are going to be taken by surprise by these elements.

I agree. Also mentioned the GBB in some PM exchanges I had with him. Just rehoused mine following the death of a mature AF GBB I had. She was not best pleased and went for the tweezers being used to coax out of the smaller enclosure but that is not usually how she behaves. And GBBs are beautiful too.

Good point. My son did months of reading and research before buying his first T for the study project. Probably put us a little ahead of the game from most new owners.
