Yeah ive heard of the expense of the seledonia. Like 600$. Not anything i would get any time soon.
I agree that the p. metallica is a very good looking T. I didnt realize there are restrictions on the seledonia. Ill have to look that up. Right now i only have one T, an a. metallica. Ive only had her for a week and im already hooked. There are a ton of Ts that i want now. I can see this getting very expensive.
I initially thought about sticking to the calmer NWs but the more i look around the more i see a lot of OWs i also want. The OBT is really cool. I also quite like the blue legged baboon.
How many Ts do you have?
From what I understand, T. seladonia are now illegal to own.

You always check eur
If I come across one I'll give you a shout.

Appreciate it. Problem I'm finding atm is everybody wants them but nobody has. It was tempting to buy loads of slings and be very patient but at £20 ea I didn't wanna get too many.

Oh ok. I d
I got it at about a year old and that 1st year it moulted 3 times, then last year it moulted twice and nothing yet this year although I think one may be imminent as it has burrowed which is most unusual.
I didnt realize molts were so abnormal. I thought it was a pretty regular scheduled type of thing. Thanks for the info.

Is there any source that talkes about the legality of the species? I tried looking around and i thought i read something that said there are very tight restrictions on wild catching and exporting them, but i couldnt find anything saying they are illegal to own.

I don't think they're illegal to own ( they aren't going to come take them off you) From what I understand you can't cross borders with them or state lines. I'm in the uk. So if I want one I have to buy it off someone in the uk. If someone from Europe was to send me one or even drive it across the water then it's illegal. But I don't think it's 100% clear right now

While i don't like quoting youtube videos very often, youtuber eeriearachnids posted a detailed video on the issue 6 days ago.

Wow. Seems like this is a disaster right now. No crossing boarders with the species. They are considering even captive bred spiders illegal. This means that even if someone is breading them they can not sell them outside of their state/boarder. As far as i know there isnt anyone in ny state who has any for sale. I guess i wont be getting one any time soon if ever. Brazil is cracking down hard on exporting animals it seems. If they are endangered then i get it but couldnt responsible people in the hobby help breed them to increase their numbers if they are endangered?

Now you are just speaking with common sense. Common sense has no place when it comes to governments and their tyrannical control of their subjects.

"Yes this animal is on the brink of extinction, but don't you dare breed more of them in captivity without our permission!!!"

Its so frustrating. You would think that if they really wanted to save this species then they would talk to the experts in the hobby who have been interacting, and breeding Ts for years. Youd think they would want to work with the people in the hobby. This tells me 2 things. 1, they dont really give two ****s about the species or 2, they are not very smart. Either way it looks bad.
