Let me think... Between me and my husband we have:
0.1.1 B. smithi
0.0.1 B. albopilosum
0.0.1 G. rosea
0.1.0 G. pulchripes
0.1.0 G. porteri
0.1.1 A. geniculata
0.0.1 GBB
0.0.1 L.P.
0.1.0 A. versicolor
0.1.0 A. metallica
0.0.1 P. regalis
Only 13? We need more. :p
Edit: Make that 14. I forgot...
I fed her last night. I opened her lid and for the first time she didn't pull back into her web. I offered her the roach and she gently took it off the tongs. So cute. :)
I'm like, what did I call it? *Doh* ;)
Ok. I'll try just dropping food in there. I was planning to feed her dubia roaches. They do burrow though... I suppose I can pinch the head but I really hate doing that. I feel bad for the roach. Or I can drop a cricket or two in I guess.
She's not a sling so I was waiting a little longer. I thought the wait for an adult was a few weeks (like I said, noob. What is the average amount of time to wait for her?). I can't see her fangs as she is hiding all the time. I was waiting to see her hunting so I would know she was hungry...
Hi!
I got an Avicularia multicolor two weeks ago. She had just molted a couple days before I purchased her so I have not tried to feed her yet. She spends all her time in a tube web she has made. I'd like to tong feed her but as soon as i open the lid she pulls way back in her web. How do...
This is my husband's tarantula. He purchased her as a G. rosea but has been recently thinking that it is a G. porteri instead. Which one is it? I vote rosea for the record but I'm no expert. ;)
I was just thinking about this the other day actually. Does this happen often? I have had baby cricket infestations in my pacman frog's viv twice in the past but that's a much easier cleaning situation then if my Avic gets baby crickets everywhere by mistake. ;)
Yes, I think I will put more coco fiber in. She's a climber for sure. The previous owner had her in an arboreal setup. She was on the ground when I was given her. I brought her home and went to Walmart to get a tub for her. When I got back she was a foot off the substrate hanging on the rim...
A friend of my husband just gave me a G. pulchripes! He didn't want her anymore and he thought I would take better care of her. I just setup a new tub for her and moved her over. How does she look? Thanks all.
