My Tapinauchenius gigas, Cayenne has just turned out to be a mature male of around 4" dls. He is currently in an arboreal container that measures 3.5" W x 4.5" D x 8.5" H. I have an 8" x 8" x 12" terrarium all ready for him but he moulted the day he was to be rehoused so I left him to harden up. He seems happy where he is and I can't decide whether to move him or leave him alone especially after my Omothymus schioedtei died only 2 months after maturing.

What would you do?

I personally would throw him an over the hill party, and then make sure he goes home with a pretty lady [emoji6]

Joking aside....if he fits and is happy, I in all my infinite newbish knowledge would leave him be [emoji16]

He's probably fine where he is, if you think he'd enjoy being able to roam a bit though. Go ahead and move him.

I'm torn. I really don't know what to do for the best. Will moving him stress him and hasten his end?

If happy and enough room, leave him be. He won't be stressed and you won't be stressed that way ☺

I'd leave him. If he has adequate space, webbed and burrowed it up, and feels cumfy and safe, I'd leave him to live out his life in peace

Thanks everyone. I've decided to leave him in the home he's used to. The terrarium won't go to waste as my T. violaceus is big enough to move into it.
