I was a secondary school teacher for 10 years. Tattoos, piercings, and bizarre pets (skunks and snakes at the time) meant my face didn't fit so I was *encouraged* to move onto the point of giving my notice. The last words the headteacher said to me were "Thankyou" after receiving my letter of resignation. He called social services after my resignation (my kids who were sill attending the school were apparently smelly because we had skunks in the house - skunks that don't smell) but suffice to say it wasn't a nice time, especially when he wrote me a letter suggesting that my personal hygiene wasn't up to a satisfactory standard so I wouldn't be welcome visiting the school I had taught in, while my kids were still there. I encouraged my daughters to have facial piercings just to piss him off. The visiting social worker loved our pets, especially the skunks so we got a glowing report from her. Since then I've done voluntary youth work and then I've worked for The Exotic Pet Refuge in Deeping St James, but unfortunately illness has meant I've had to stop all of these things. I'm doing a bit of home schooling for my daughter's step children until I can do more voluntary work. I'm available for supermarket critiques and drink reviews. Pay for the drink and you'll be guaranteed a fantastic review. Too much? Sorry, but I'm a frustrated ex teacher and like writing!
