Hi everyone.
This is the first time I post here.
End of July I've got GBB. She was a rescue Tarantula, she was around 2 years old. She was active, webbing a lot, but she was a bit fussy with her food. The last few weeks she stopped eating and she was in funny positions, like 1 leg in the air.
I thought she's probably in premolt. On Monday a l found her on her side, I thought the molting process begin. But she's was still in this position today. I know sometimes they need more time. But she's not moving and she smells funky, so I know she died I just don't know why. I know it could happen anytime. This is my first Tarantula death and I'm really sad. I loved her. Please see the pictures maybe you see something I don't.

Sometimes random deaths just happen and they really suck. From what I could see in the pictures, nothing stands out in regards to why she passed.

I am very sorry for your loss.

Thank you for your comment.
I know it could happen, it's really upsetting. This was my first tarantula death, I just hoped she will have a long life with me. I quite new to the hobby although I do a lot of research even to this day, there's always something new you can learn. I just wanted to have other people's opinion on it, because maybe I'm missing something. Thank you again.

Losses really do hurt, especially our first. From what you posted, you seem to have provided proper husbandry! So don't blame yourself.

Absolutely. We lost a male Nhandu carapoensis during a molt earlier this week. We have around 100 T's & it still hurts loosing a T. Especially when you don't know if it was something you could have done better.

I'm sorry for your loss @m0lsx !

I had a Homoeomma chilense female that passed away after having her for YEARS. It felt like I lost a family member. I am still not over that one.
