Vinegaroon husbandry

So I have around 70 tarantulas, so I'm pretty knowledgable on tarantula husbandry, but I just got a vinegaroon and I want to make sure I treat it perfectly as my spiders.

Rather than reading up on the husbandry (because I understand it is very similar to tarantula care), can someone please tell me the major differences, if any, between the husbandry of the two?

Thanks

Just give it a lot of dirt and a hide. Water dish and I’ve read they like it a little humid so spraying once a week is good, maybe even every other week. I’ve had mine for a while now, so I guess I’m pretty knowledgeable.

Water dish? Are they like T's where they can't drown? Enclosure size relative to specimen? Feed it once a week?

Thanks for the input everybody

They aren't hydrophobic. They are also in the same family as scorpions, so you might be better suited treating them like one. I'll see if I can find a care sheet for you.

I gave mine a bottle cap to drink out of. Their body is a lot easier to bend to get at safe angles to drink than tarantulas so drowning isn’t a problem. I keep mine in this: I feed mine once a week just fine. Honestly it might even prefer to eat less often.

Care sheets are sometimes more harm than good. Personally I'd completely ignore them and go with someone like Kaden who has experience in keeping the species. Same goes with Ts and other inverts

I didn't tell you to treat the ****ing care sheet like it's the god damn bible. I also took sometime finding one that appeared reasonable. If you don't want to do the research, and don't want to at least look at, then the stupidity of your question is only secondary.

In his defence he didn’t ask for a care sheet so you should probably calm down a lil

I have two, kept separately obviously, mine have shallow water dishes and I’ve witnessed them drinking, I give mine 4”+ substrate and they have dug chambers and tunnels, which is always fascinating to watch, they have cork tubes and branches and a hide, they are really quite active and are always hunting and exploring and I’ve noticed how much they will use all given space. Mine have an 18” long x 12x12” glass Viv. I feed mine about every week, if prey buries itself it is great to watch the Vs slowly dig down to reach it. They are fascinating little creatures and I hope to get a third soon and hopefully make up a pair.

Very interesting to hear how they use all the space you give them and how they hunt down their food! :)
Yes, I was surprised, I’d never kept them before but glancing over now I can see both just ambling around walking along the branches, continually feeling for prey, they certainly enjoy the various tubes and surfaces to explore, I didn’t know if they would spend a lot of time hidden but they are out during the day so a nice show animal.

Stupidity of his question? More like the stupidity of you using care sheets. You haven’t even cared for a vinegaroon have you? And also, I’m a Christian, so if you will, SHUT THE FRONT DOOR ABOUT THE BIBLE!
