versicolor sling not webbing

hi, I just got an avicularia versicolor a week ago and rehoused it in a Safeway deli cup with a stick and a leaf with eco earth substrate. Well he's been in there for a week and hasn't webbed one bit. I have a water bottle cap with water in the bottom and I spray once every few days, when I notice its dry. I put a dead pinhead on the enclosure floor last night and couldn't find it this morning so I assume it ate. But still no webs after a week he just likes to sit at the top of the cage and do nothing.

its just sad because he had a web in the vial he came in. I had to mess it up to get him in the new cage and he hasn't webbed since

Sometimes it just takes them awhile to get familiar and settle back in after being moved. After more than two months of having my Chaetopelma olivaceum, an obligate burrower, it JUST started tunneling about 3-4 days ago.

I've heard it can take months for them to get comfy! My avic hasn't webbed at all, but she is doing fine so no worries :)

Took mine a couple weeks after i got her to start webbing. May not be enough anchor points in the container you have her in for her to build her web.

I rehomed 5 new slings this weekend and I'm patiently waiting for them to settle in and do something besides sit there and look at me!!

Enjoy that while you can before they become pet dirt enclosure after the slings burrow away for 8 months. ;)

I will never be able to handle that!! How do you not tear into that burrow from curiosity? I am going to try very VERY hard not to disturb them.

trick is to get them to burrow along the side of the enclosure so you can see them ;)

I know I fail will too..... My first two t's Rosea and A.Avic hang out on the side of their cages watching me when I'm home. My rosea very seldom touches the ground. I won't know what to do with a cage that looks empty if anybody starts hiding or burrowing.

rosea like dry substrate, the smallest bit of moisture, like a drop outside of the waterdish when you fill it, will have them climbing the walls until it dries. I've been carefully filling the waterdish for my rosea sling, and just started using a syringe to moisten the lower levels of the substrate to help with humidity. She's started a burrow now since i started doing that.

She definitely hates any hint of moisture. I carefully fill her water dish too. But I like the idea of moistening the lowest parts of the substrate. I think she's still mad because I rehomed her about 1 month ago and all of her webbing is gone. I think she sits on the side of her cage staring at me and wishing me ill thoughts.

so I'm worried about my little versicolor untill I get its new enclosure. I made a mistake and misted the substrate at first. Its almost completley dry now. I also made another mistake of using a real stick I found. Well I shaved all of the bark off it and boiled it so I thought it was fine, but I found mold on it. But I can't find mold on anything else. What should I do? Get a new container untill I get my new new container in the mail" or what. Also when I was removing the stick he ran down and burrowed himself in the substrate. I thought he slescaped because I left the lid sligtly loose and he just dissapeared. So I barley saw his leg to know what he did. I know arboreals aren't known for burrowing? He's still yet to make a web. He has not ate in my care in just over a week of me having it

Arborals when they are slings do like to burrow/hide until they are bigger. My 2.5" Tappinauchenius prefers to be in her 'den' rather than out. I think they tend to stay more visible as they are older.
