Was hoping to have a glasscutter make two holes in my exoterra tank, for push fit plastic vents.
Anyone ever done this?

I've never needed to as ExoTerras are well ventilated.

Hi Shaun,

I drilled 2 x 32mm holes through my fish tank a few years ago with a diamond holesaw off Ebay, i drilled the same size with a bi metal through a piece of timber so I could clamp it in place where I needed the hole. And used this as a guide to hold the diamond holesaw in place whist drilling nice and steady and spraying with water at all times.
It drilled 10mm thick glass perfectly in minutes. One Tip though is to place a piece of timber on the inside so the holsaw does not burst through the last part of the glass and ruin the job.
Have a practise on a piece of thin scrap glass, I say thin as the diamond holsaws don't last long, well the cheap ones of Ebay anyway.

Hope this helps, love to see how you get on.

Cheers

If you go to www.roundvents.com you will find a wide variety of vents. Many use stronger plastic venting or even are rated as insect proof. These have metallic slits or other designs.

Some tarantulas can easily chew through cheap unbonded screens.
