Underrated Ts

What are some tarantulas you think don’t get enough love? I’ve seen so many of the same Ts online when talking about beauty or temperament, I’d like to see some Ts no one really talks about.

Me personally, I’ll put my vote in for a. purpurea any day of the week. It gets overshadowed by the versicolor, but I’ve always been downright enchanted by its beautiful, deep purples. It was my first tarantula, too, but being a first time keeper who got a sling as my first was… not a smart idea as a majority of my research and knowledge was geared towards much more sizable spiders and sadly the purpurea is no longer with us. But I’ve learned a lot since then and it would be a dream to get one again and see those adult colors. There was something so magical about a purple spider to me, and I notice very few people in the hobby talk about it. I’ll happily sing the praises of the purpurea any day.

In my case it has to be the Pterinochilus murinus, the OBT. They are always described as aggressive, not for beginners and yet I started in the hobby with one. I mean who can resist that glorious orange colour.
I have had the pleasure of keeping 8 of them, currently I have 3 and have never yet seen any threat pose in fact I've found them to be remarkably calm.

Cyriocosmus sp is a good beginners species that is often over looked . Is a dwarf what they lack in size they make up for in personality and colour .

All US Aphonopelma species outside of Aphonopelma moderatum. So many stunning species such paloma, vorhiesi, and madera. Not to mention all of the other species that have yet to be described properly.
