T.Blondi or T.Stirmi

hey,

Kinda confused a little bit on wether or not I have a Stirmi or not. A little help would be much appreciated. I hope it’s a Stirmi personally. Also since it hasn’t molted yet maybe you guys could give me a ballpark of its sex? Thank you so much!

That would be a stirmi. For sex we’ll need a good picture of the underside of the abdomen.

Yup, stirmi. Blondi have very hairy knees.

Hey thanks for the replies. Glad to confirm its a Stirmi. I’ll try to get more photos when it’s feeling photogenic lol.

Couldn’t get one of its underside. Not trying to make it too stressed. Just one question. What is that on its abdomen that I have circled? I came home and it had that what looks like a scrape but it seems to be acting normal. Is it getting prepared for a molt? Thank you I’m very new at this.

I dont think its anything to be concerned about. All my stirmis had ugly abdomens when they were approaching a molt. I have seen a stirmi with what looked like cancerous growths but thats not what that is, I don't think. You see how the skin is darkening? That means impending molt.

It looks just like my T stirmi. Still, these guys are a bit more hardy in captivity then T blondi is if conventional wisdom is to be believed. The size difference and wow factor are essentially the same.

After they molt, be ready to take lots of pics because the red hairs are brilliant, quite beautiful. It's also pretty easy to sex the molts as well.
