Still burrowed

Been about 2 weeks since I last saw my sling, no idea where in the enclosure the burrow is but it's sealed off. When should I start worrying and how long should I wait before I start messing around in there?

This isn't unusual, I can go months without seeing some of mine. Is food being eaten?

Which species is it? Did it eat at all before it closed its burrow?

Like @Enn49 said, that is not at all strange for a sling. In the wild, slings are easy prey, so many of them stay secreted away in burrows for safety. In captivity, if given room to burrow, most will exhibit the same behavior. My first L. parahybana sling spent almost the first full year of its life burrowed. When it's entrance was open, I knew it was still eating. When it closed it up, I assumed that it was premolt time and waited to drop prey in until it opened again.

I also have an Aphonopelma that buries itself like clockwork in late October every year and doesn't come out until April. In this case, it's emulating what it would do in the wild when winter comes.

It's a G. Rosea, hardly ever eats and did not eat before burrowing. Normally it burrows against the side with the top open so I can see, this time don't even know where the sucker is. I picked up a cricket today so I'll drop that in and see if it disappears.
It molted a month or so ago but who knows could be premolt again

i got 2 little tiny 1/4-3/8" dls A. seemanni BCF slings maybe 2 months ago or so. One has burrowed down to the bottom so he can be seen at times, the other i haven't seen since i put him in the enclosure. They'll come out when they're ready, or hungry. It's winter, some species will do a kind of hibernation, burrow down for a few months till winter passes and then come out.

One of my recent purchases stayed buried for a couple weeks, and I could not spot the burrow.

I honestly did not know whether it was dead, escaped, or just hiding. But then it appeared, s everything was good.

You have to have patience.
