I just want to throw this out there because it really amuses me. I just rehoused my GBB and it was the easiest rehouse I think possible. She had a hide that was nice and webbed up inside almost creating a sort of hammock within. I was able to lift and transfer the entire hide while she was still inside and she just sat calm and collected like a queen and wasn’t scared at all just chillin in the this little hammock. As a side note I saw a video in which Tom Morand (sorry if I misspelled his last name) stated that with extensive webbers, adding some of their existing webbing helps them adjust quicker. The hide had her webbing all over it and I transferred some fauna with her webbing on it as well and like a charm she is already exploring loads and seems almost unfazed by the move. So thank you to him and ya’ll should consider the same when doing a rehouse with webbers. Anyway, cool experience and I just wanted to share! Take care community!

Transfer of old enclosure hides, webbing, etc. definitely helps a T's transition. Done it multiple times and the T migrates to the familiar surroundings inside the new! Great for T's to settle them in!!

She’s loving the space! Tom also mentioned that he noticed a change in temperament with his GBB when he gave it more climbing surface considering they are “semi arboreal” and so I added that to the new enclosure. Again, worked amazing! She’s less skittish already. Thank goodness for knowledgeable content creators. The literature from the past is just so unreliable.

Glad to hear it! I give mine a bit of height as well and I agree, it works well. I definitely have the enclosure still wider than it is tall, but a bit of verticality and way more anchor points than you think you'd need goes a long way. I've heard him more recently refer to that style as "terrestrial plus" to avoid confusion, since some people go too tall when they hear semi-arboreal.

Toms great! Another GREAT You Tuber is " Dave's little Beasties". Both are simply awesome!! Both my GBB ladies have ample room in their enclosures and if you have an old world T that acts super feisty a rehouse sometime can do miracles! My female Harpactira Cafreriana benefitted greatly from a rehouse! Onery and pissy as all get outs and just a little more room and now most times she is chill!! Happy Spoodering!!

That’s why I put it in quotes lol. I’ve heard people get upset with the terminology.

Semi- arboreal is good in my world. It aptly describes spoods that will web above ground level into bushes and trees. Works for me!! Lol.
Haha yeah I definitely wasn't trying to critique anyone. This is one where I see the value in the term, but I also see some people getting confused by the term, so I understand both the people who use it and the people who try to steer away from it. Either way, when we are somewhere like this where we can have a nuanced discussion about what we actually mean by the term it's a non-issue since we can all quickly get on the same page about what a proper setup needs to look like.
