I'm sad to say that Zulu went to spider heaven yesterday. He had been with me for such a short time, I bought him in February and he matured in September. He'd been noticeably less and less active over the last couple of weeks and slipped away while I was out yesterday.

That's sad. I remember you first getting him (didn't know it was a himmthen) and was soooo excited and your most expensive T I think at the time. hope he finds a nice female in spider heaven. Seems such a short time from maturity. such a shame.

@Phil I was sooo excited when he came but not too surprised that he hasn't lived a bit longer because he was very small. It seems the quicker they grow to maturity the shorter time they are with us.

They obviously try to pack a lifetime of experience into a very short period of time then. Also a shame you could not find him a lady friend :(

Sorry Enn. :( If I cant find a female or a buyer for mature males I've been releasing them on my property (not Aphonopelma obviously ) For whatever reason I feel better letting them wander and live the lasts months free. I'm hoping they find some anax in my fields to at least get laid, even though they make no babies I think it would make them feel better.. I guess im lucky to have the right climate for that. It's just sad to have to watch them deteriorating as they approach the end, climbing and searching..hopefully no Pterinochilus anax start killing folks around here...lmfao

@MassExodus Sadly we have no wild Ts here and it's so cold they'd be lucky to last 5 minutes outside. At least he was warm and eating almost to the end

I am so sorry. I kno how hard it is losing on of our babies. Losing a couple recently myself, I feel ur pain. Having just bought a H pulchripes, I know the expense involved, but also know the time and care you put in, and a loss like that is horrible. RIP little man.
Hopefully he is in T heaven having his pick of all the females he wants
