Why would an Australian T mimic a snake from the other side of the world?
good point LOL....the article also mentioned that it sounds similar to crickets but I don't think it is trying to entice prey as it only seems to make the noise when in threat pose.

It definitely seemed to be a defensive

I'd imagine it's just "a sound" to get the attention of a nearby threat. I wouldn't say it was by any chance trying to mimic.

If their Australian I don't think it'll be possible in Europe or USA , from what I understand Australia are very strict on their borders with wildlife.

Probably best to export an egg sac. Whether egg sacs legally are considered spiders is an open question. I'm sure some of the breeders have import licenses.

There are already Australian tarantulas in the hobby. In fact if I recall correctly, Tom Moran even has a rehousing video of one. Someone somewhere had to import them. They didn't float down on a cloud.

I thought they couldn't legally be exported? Australia doesn't mess around with that stuff. Damnit now I have to google aussie import export laws!

Are those in the hobby yet? I'm sure they'd be popular.

Australian tarantulas have been in the USA for at least the last five years that I've been in this hobby.

Getting Australian spiders into the USA is easy. An Australian packs them for shipping like they always do and ship them to someone in the USA declaring the package as something not an animal, something that will not be inspected by anything other than a drug sniffing dog.

There are at least three Polish tarantula dealers with web sites selling their spiders worldwide including the USA. There is also a German dealer with his own web site doing the same thing. They can and do ship to Australia as well.

Hehe, that's what I'm talking about! Laws are made to keep morons in check. And also for smart people to break. They're a general guidline to stop retards, not normal people that mean no harm..thats how i've always looked at it, even while in law enforcement. Which I don't recommend..theres good folks in L.E., but it is, by and large, a chicken**** job..the world aint black and white. It never will be.

There is a potential problem with customs and import duties. Even mailing a set of boots from one country to another might be a problem.

A low cost one time transfer that was a gift only works probably attract much less attention.

Honestly, I wouldn't own an Aussie t, they're certain death to dogs if they get a shot in..I just wouldn't risk it. I'd like to own a whole lot of their lizards though.
