He's fricking massive too, bigger than all my slings.
It's weird, I thought they need to burrow to turn into beetles.

So do I keep this beetle here? Will he eat apples and stuff like normal mealworms? Is he a threat to my other mealworms? Do I keep him or set him free?
I only think I have 1 T big enough to kill him, a 6.5cm Nhandu Tripeppi

I think the mealworm beetle is known as a "Darkling Beetle" And yes you can feed them, in fact they are very notorious. HOWEVER, these beetles have a defence mechanism, they can spray an odour that your T will find very unpleasant & never put a live mealworm beetle in, if you even think your T is pre molt. These beetles will damage your T.

Personally I treat them like a roach, I crush their heads & pop them in. Some T's will eat them & love them, others refuse, but personally, I find smaller T's are more likely to eat them & I will not put them in live, as I know they produce that odour & I know they can harm my T's. But as dead prey, they seem to work fine with some T's.
