Made it to the magic 100 @Phil

Number 99 is a Hysterocrates gigas named Chad

What more fitting to bring up the ton than a Poecilotheria vittata. 5 years ago yesterday my son got Enn, the first tarantula to enter our house and the one that started my love of the eight legged creatures and whose name became my user name. Sadly she died almost years ago during a bad moult. I have missed her more than I expected so I decided to buy another.

Within 3 hours of being rehoused they have both found their new hidey holes.

The Hysterocrates gigas has already burrowed down, luckily against the side of the container so I can see it

Whereas the Poecilotheria vittata has found a hole half way up the cork bark that it fits in perfectly

can I see a picture of your t room please

I share my living room with them so it's not actually a T room.

One wall and alcove contain a dresser and bookcase. The 12" cube ExoTerra contains all the small slings.

The other alcove contains a stack of vivariums which house the slightly bigger Ts and in the 2nd viv down is my Royal Python.

I keep the containers in vivariums as I also have a dog and 5 cats (they don't bother with the Ts but love the crickets)

So how long does it take to feed and water all? I've always wondered as I don't have anywhere near as many but it takes me a while as I get distracted and just stare

Not long. I check them all every evening so I just top up water bowls as I go. Feeding maybe takes an hour a week for little ones plus an hour every 2 weeks for the big ones. Considering when I had 200+ snakes when it could take me 3 hours every evening 7 days a week to feed and clean out I find caring for the Ts easy and far less time consuming.

I have approx 200. Like @Enn49 mentions, with the slings they usually have a twice a week cycle, the larger ones I feed once a week. on average 2 to 2.5 hours at worse.....I agree though, I often get distracted and have to stop myself from staring at them...LOL
