Hiya!

So it is the second time i'm catching my Gigas bitting in the upper grill of its terrarium... is there a reason why she does that?? Is she desperatly trying too escape something?? I cant see nothing that could give me a clue that could be the reason why... and she does this only at night time between 3 and 5 when i need too wake up too go too work... or else she is always hiding underground.. its weard... hopefully someone can help me out with this.

Dont know if its a male or female but when i talk about a T, i always say she... i feed her almost every 2 days always give her a big hopper so she is well fed, because sometimes she dont take it straight when i give it too her.. and room temperature is normal at about 23 24 25... and the room is ventilated...

Nothing catches my eye as out of the ordinary here. I asked the sex because mature males will be very restless and hell bent on escaping their confines and wandering in search of females. What size is your tarantula? Might it be a mature male? Can we see a pic of the enclosure? Hysterocrates is one of the few Genus' that do not "hook out" as MMs. So, if yours is an adult male, and it matured and made a sperm web after the last molt, that would explain the behavior.

The only other time I've seen this is when I had a large tarantula in too small of an enclosure.

Both of my L. parahybanas chewed their way out through plastic air vents when they were less than 2" dls. 1 male and 1 female and neither anywhere near maturity.

Give it a hiding place such as a half round cork bark or maybe a coconut hide. I don't have that species, full disclosure.

Still, if the T has a safe place to go it'll be less likely to run for anywhere but here.

She got a hiding place undeground she made tunnels and most of the time she's there and not coming out, she is mostly active in the night thats it... thats why i didnt add some other things in the terrarium because i know its a species that loves too dig.. i think its true about the T being a male... thats why its acting like that..
