Stumbling across stuff like this is so exhilarating! I found 2 Phidippus audax mid pairing yesterday. I felt so lucky! What a great find that guy made, and like Vanessa said, good for him for covering her back up.

I'd love to just be able to find a female. The males of the species are the wanderers, the females stay in their hides. I'd have to destroy the wall of my garage to get my resident female out..the southern house spider females leave a very distinct web..i know she's there..

I love watching the Grass spiders, wolf spiders, Orb weavers, and various other spiders that live in our are gardens and our house. Its fun feeding them left over cockroaches and crickets for when your tarantula doesn't eat for premolt . Though I am yet to come across one building and eggsac and laying eggs,
