hey all, my new LP is doing great (eats like a marathon runner) but i underestimated Florida humidity. i havnt misted his tank even once since i got him, but its still 80% humidity and hes starting to get some white mold growth on the substrate. i scooped out as much mold as i could, and poked twice as much ventilation into the container. should that be good, or do i need to change ALL the substrate?

I would do a sub change but I'm paranoid about dang mites :p
See if it clears up and drys out overnight, usually more ventilation is key. Don't mist just keep your little guy/gal clean fresh water. Pictures of the enclosure would be helpful ^^
If it doesn't dry out then consider a rehousing with dry sub. (Due to your ambient humidity already) Again no misting just a nice water dish. ^.~

What she said ^^ :)

I scooped off the top layer when i had mold and for me that took care of it.

I will try to post pics later, its just a piece of tubberware with a ton of holes poked in it. The substrate is ecoearth that i soaked in water then rang the living hell out of, i then let it sit for 3 days with the lid off. apparently it was still to wet because every morning when i check on the container, the walls and top are all fogged up. i kept poking more holes in it and finally its no longer fogged up in the mornings but i still have to wipe fog off ever other day.I now have like 100 holes in the tubberware, so im hoping it finally stops.

yeah way to wet. I'd change out the whole substrate. Just add enough water that when you squeeze it, it doesn't release any moisture, just damp enough to hold shape for him to burrow in.
