Scored this pretty girl at an expo last month. She's a fun little spider. They fuss all over their food which is kind of amusing to watch. Super easy to take care of. Would recommend for anyone so inclined. Not the greatest pics but you get the general idea.

Gave her a cricket last night that proceeded to run behind the backing in her enclosure. I figured it would camp in there and die so I gave her another one. She got both of them. I now have one very fat Latrodectus.

Widows are cool spiders. Used to collect jar fulls when I was a kid.

I was also a widow hunter as a kid. The local university paid some token amoint for them (I think it was $0.25 each) as well as for certain types of scorpions. I thought I was gonna be the world's first invert-collector billionaire.

Interesting thing is Widows can jump! Seen it and had it happen to me back in the day.

Lol, I did it for the shear thrill. I wish I could've collected a little bank in the process. Black Widows might have gotten endangered in my parts back in the day. Lol!!
