When measuring humidity in the enclosure, do you measure humidity of air or peat? The moisture is in the middle of the peat 80% while the surface layer is dry to the touch.How do I now what is the best for my T. She made shelter in the middle od the peat. The peat is 15 cm deep.

You never measure humidity in a enclosure. Theres no need to do it. If you try to replicate what a care sheet says the spiders orgin is , you'll end up with a sick or dead spider. Tarantulas can adapt to their environment. Most (not all) tarantulas are good with dry substrate with a overflowed water dish once a week.
