How big of a hole can a 1.5" Tarantula fit through?

Have a 1.5" Brachypelma Hamorii coming tomorrow, I drilled some fairly small holes into a plastic tub, but I just want to make sure it can't fit through them. What would you say that a T of that size could generally fit through in terms of a hole and inches?

The limiting factor is the width on the carapace.

The abdomen is squishy and they can squeeze that through pretty small spaces. The carapace, however, is solid and pretty inflexible so they're not going through anything more narrow than the carapace.

The more significant consideration is food. A medium sized cricket or roach can wiggle through a pretty tiny hole. Make your ventilation ports too big and you'll have a houseful of six-legged guests pretty quickly.

If you think your holes are too big you can always get some plastic mesh and hot glue it over them to stop escapes. Mesh is not preferred for safety reasons, but having a small area of it covering some holes shouldn't be a big deal.

I just directly hot glued a bit of each hole
