I wasn't expecting these 2 until next Wednesday but I've just had these photos sent by the seller and they are now due to arrive on Friday so only 2 days to wait, woohoo :T:

Heterothele gabonensis, Kota, hatched Nov 14

Congrats! Now, the waiting starts...lol When I have a T shipment coming, I'm like a dad in a maternity waiting room. Pacing, looking out the window, checking my text updates from the carrier. lol...pathetic.

What do the names Kota and Vita represent?

Kota is one of the pygmy people in Gabon where it comes from and as it will only grow to 1.5'' dls it was thought to be an apt name. Vita is a river of Colombia where it comes from.

Containers are all ready waiting for them, Vita's with deep substrate for digging and Kota's with plenty to climb on as it's semi-arboreal.

I got the kitchen tidied up, that has killed some time. What amazes me is that the excitement is just the same no matter how many times you experience new Ts coming.

The postmen have just called and they have lost the package with my Ts in. Apparently they had seen it but it has vanished, they are currently retracing their route trying to find it, even calling out an estate agent to open an empty house. I'm just hoping it hasn't fallen out of the van and been squashed.

Thank goodness they have been found on the roadside, they had fallen out of the mail van. I can't fault the 2 posties as they have spent a lot of time looking for them when they could have just gone off without saying or doing anything.

Kota, Heterothele gabonensis

Vita, Hapalopus sp Colombia small

I'm just so relieved. I had visions of someone finding the package and opening it up, wouldn't they have got a shock? They had travelled from Germany in 2 days instead of the expected 4 and then the UK post messes up. At least they seem ok, the H. gabonensis has begun to dig at the side of its water bowl and the H. sp Colombia small is chilling on the cork bark.

Very lucky Ts. I could have cried when they told me they'd lost them.

The good news is that the H. sp Colombia has had a drink and is currently chomping on a cricket.

I bet... Seriously, on the side of the road?? I'm shocked it could've even fallen out. Well, kudos to your postal guys for bending over backwards to find it! Did they know what was in it?? lol....:T:

They'd fallen out when they opened the van to get something else out. They only found out what was in it when they told me they'd lost it although they both know I keep Ts. Not only had they retraced their route, knocking on doors etc but they had even gone through the bags of mail that they had in the van just in case it had dropped into one. I can't count how many times they apologised.
