Hi, I am Christi from TN. I am a pet groomer who has dogs herself and is looking to branch into other pets. I have been keeping tropical fish for ten years and I tend to go above and beyond for them, lol.

I have just a couple of questions, being a first time T owner. It will be a rose hair. I've been reading a lot on this forum and from what I see, a 5 gal seems to be a good choice for an enclosure? I'm not too worried about heat and humidity. I am also wondering what to use for a top, assuming I get a 5 gal glass aquarium. I could get Home Depot to cut me a piece of plexiglass and drill some holes in it.

Any other tips and advice would be cool. I plan to feed it crickets as they are readiky available at my employer. Thanks!

Welcome Christi! That plastic bin you linked from Walmart would work just fine! I prefer smaller lids so I can control the opening/closing a bit better but I just have a spiderling right now.
When are you going to pick up your new T?

I already had all the necessary items (sans container) so I went ahead and bought one and brought it home today. Boy am I glad I did! It had a sponge for water and no hide. After sitting out in the open scoping things out, it ran into the hide and has been destressing since.

The place I got it from kept it in moist substrate and fed it 2-3 crickets daily. It seems to be taking.to the dry coconut fiber very well and I can only hope it adjusts to a new feeding schedule. I plan to feed it two crickets every Friday, not every day!
