Just wanted to say hi to everyone and thank the administrators for approving my membership . I'm a tarantula newbie, and I got my first one a month ago a Grammostola Pulchripes. I did a lot of research and saw this one was highly recommended for beginners and I know it's a slow grower, but that will give me plenty of time of getting to know my new pet along with learning how to take care of it from spiderling to adult. I have a lot of patients and just wish I had started in this hobby decades ago but I'm happy to have "pulled" the trigger and bought one. I have always been fascinated with tarantulas and spiders in general. Over my many years I have keep all kinds of pets, from gerbils, hamsters, dogs, cats, iguanas, snakes and both fresh and saltwater aquariums. My main hobbies have been growing carnivorous plants and drone flying and I'm totally excited about my new adventure. My G. pulchripe was a 1/2 inch spiderling and it molted for the first time for me 3 days ago, which made me very excited. I have some picture which I will share, from left to right the first two I took after her mold. The next two is her molt and the last two are of her in her new home after her arrival. Thanks everyone and take care.

Hi, it's very nice to meet you. Thanks for introducing yourself. And welcome to the addiction lol That's what it becomes, one of the best and most rewarding addictions there is lol. I hope you enjoy every minute with your tarantulas, and I hope you work yourself up to getting more species. I absolutely respect the fact that you did your research first and got one that was better suited for beginners. Take care, always remember safety first, and I mean safety for the tarantula lol
