GBB sling advice

Set my gbb sling (1-2cm) up in basic housing ( tub ,coco fibre etc)
And some say no moisture ie moss and some say yes
Just confused whats best?

If they are slings, slightly damp substrate is good, but once they hit 2" you can start keeping it dry.

I kept all 4 of my GBB slings bone dry with a water dish and damping the corner of the water dish every once in a while.
