So this is the big day right!? Picking up my slings at the FedEx shipping center and I payed for priority overnight shipping. Should be pretty routine right? Nope, I arrive at the center, which is 40 minutes from my house, and they tell me the the package went somewhere it wasn’t supposed to and it’s gonna be another 3 hours...

I already contacted Tanya from Fear Not and she immediately replied and said the slings will be okay but still, that throws a bit of a wrench into my day. The most important thing is the safety of my slings though. If they are fine I’ll be happy but it’s still a bit frustrating.

All should still be well, a few years ago I had a Fedex package delayed for a few days due to unforeseen weather conditions (can't remember seller), but the slings were perfectly fine (H. orellanai).

Nothing to worry about.

Yeah I’m just a bit nervous because I have not done this before. Beginner anxiety I guess you would call it.
I know exactly what you are feeling. I had ordered some millipedes and deaths head roaches from Bugs in Cyberspace (shipping issues are totally not his fault and Peter is hands down one of the best online sellers I've interacted with) and had asked that they be held at my local post office. When I got there to pick them up they couldn't find the package and said that it had been sent to another post office. When they called the post office they said it was sent to they told the people that there was no package to be found. Turns out they were in the back of the post office that I was at waiting to be loaded to the next post office. They all ended up being perfectly fine though. It's one of those moments where minutes feel like hours and then they tell you it could be a few hours and it feels like YEARS! I hope everything arrives in perfect condition for you and that your next shipping experience goes a bit better!

I have gotten the slings Hhome and into their new enclosures... sorta. The LP ended up being much smaller than the 1” sling I ordered. I mean really really small so I actually have it enclosed in a pill bottle right now. The half inch H. Gigas came right on size but it was still too small for any enclosure I made. So I put that one in a tooth pick bottle. The bottle is a bit bigger than the pill bottle. I put the 1” Poecilotheria in the deli cup and I only misted in their enclosures for now.

Ts are hearty buggers. I have had 2 long term waiting experiences--both good. A H. pulchripes sling that took 16 days to get to me. It was happy and healthy. Recently, I had a miserable experience with USPS. Casey K sent me an adult female C. lividum. 6 days later, she arrived. Amazingly, even the adult survived!!!!
