Newbie here, recently got a caribena versicolor. It molted three days ago and tonight I offered him a cricket on tongs and it was refused. Can I put prey (crickets or dubia) in the enclosure unattended.
Thanks

If it molted three days ago it's fangs won't be hard enough to eat even if it wanted to.

I give them a week or two after molting before I offer them any food. Slings harden up quicker than bigger spiders. I wouldn't leave food in with them because they are particularly vulnerable post-molt. Best to just let them do their spider-yoga in peace as they harden up.

Two weeks without food for a tarantula isn't a big deal at all. If you get looking around, you'll find folks here who have gone months between successful feedings.

If the fangs are black it’s ready to eat Just take out food not eaten by the next day. When mine molted it may take a while, eventually they eat .️
