After scaring the beejeesus out of me for months and months!
I had tried crickets about a month ago and she was having none of it. I tried a medium sized cricket again tonight and she went berserk.
I am so thankful to have gotten through this latest fast.
Thank you to everyone who tried to help her!

Can you put Evelyn on the phone to my Lotta please, lol? She's not eaten for many months neither, tried crickets, roaches, but nothing works.
Both my waste disposals (Genic and Versi) are in premolt, so I have to catch the bugs and put them back into the tubs, whereas I usually just quickly grab them and put them into the other spider tanks, lol.
Oh well, Rosea's/Porteris, who'd have them?

@VanessaS That's great news.

@Kymura I now have this mental image of 2 Ts chatting to each other on the phone which is going to bring a smile to my face every time it springs to mind.

You don't want Evelyn speaking with Lotta. I could see her telling Lotta to hold off until the silly human does a whole redo of her home and checks in on her five times a day begging her to eat... almost in tears. Then, go ahead and start eating again like nothing happened.
I'm sure Evelyn would say that - cheeky girlie she is.

Well if that's the case she'd fit in fine here,
I literally paced the floor when my porteri molted,
totally convinced myself something horrible was going to happen to her,
Had a bottle of vegetable glycerine,
another of distilled water and numerous tiny brushes ready just in case.
She meanwhile, sailed through, I swear she was laughing at me the entire time.
her thought process was no doubt.
"yeah, bet mom wont try to feed me anymore nasty roaches now!"
(Yeti hates dubia, only thing she has ever threat posed at)

I think that I probably spoke too soon because she isn't getting better. She only ate the one cricket and has refused everyone since. She is looking miserable, her abdomen is still all tiny, and I keep finding her completely metatarsus deep in her full water dish. I have been keeping the dish full, overflowing a bit directly around it, and otherwise the substrate is dry. She does move around and even got a bit skittish the other night when I was removing an uneaten cricket who was probably annoying her.
I don't know what more I can do for her.

Oh no, her abdomen indeed looks very small. I don't know the whole background, but do you know how old she is and is she a confirmed female?
No sign of parasites that could stop her from eating (Nematodes etc)?

I hope some of the more expert keepers can advise maybe, because mine is still not eating neither, but although she looks slender, her abdomen is not as skinny as your spider's :(. Keeping my fingers crossed for you x.

Yes, it has been a very long story. It was my original reason for posting here.
I've had her for almost 17 years and she was a WC adult female when I got her. She has not moulted in over three years and had fasted for over nine months. Yes, she is a confirmed female.
We checked for nematodes as that was one of the first theories. The current guess is that she is just plain old. In the last couple of weeks she has eaten one cricket and then nothing.
Like your girl, Evelyn has fasted on and off all of her life and her abdomen would always stay rounded. This is something new that it has gotten all small.
I think that the overall consensus is that she is dying of old age. She has had a very long life, but that doesn't make it less sad.
Thank you for your kind words. We'll just have to see what happens.

Sad to say I have to agree that it sounds as though she's nearing her end but at least you know she's had a long and safe life with you.

My old lady G. porteri did the same thing when her time ran out. It sucks, and sorry you're going through it. :( But feel some sort of reassurance it wasn't because of something you did (or didn't do).
