I just got my avic metallica and while i was taking images in order to ventral sex my spider i noticed some damage to one of her (i think its a her. The imaged were taken at an angle because of glare from the camera flash. Makes it hard to determine the sex) pedipalps.

Will this effect my spider in any life threatening way or will she need any kind of special care? She seems to be climbing just fine. She hasnt eaten yet but i just got her and she had fresh killed food in her enclosure the day i got her which was about 5 days ago. She hasnt fallen or anything that i have seen (and im a new T owner so i have been staring at her every hour or so).
Any help from someone more experienced than myself would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think there is any reason to worry. My MM H. dictator (RIP) only had one pedipalp when I got him and he was perfectly fine and eating well (as far as mature males are concerned).

Thank you for the reply. I have been pretty worried. Its stressful being new to tarantulas and nkt knowing what to expect. Ive been reading quite a bit. I was worried that she hadnt eaten since i got her, nor has she made a web. After reading i realized she probably wint eat or web for a little while because i just got her and i also just put her in her new enclosure. The advice I've gotten from you and others on this form has really reduced the anxiety with not knowing what to expect. I really appreciate your reply. Thanks.
