Just curious if this is something i should be concerned about or if this is normal, or if anyone else has experienced this behavior. My haplopelma longipes (who isnt active much except at night) which ive had for 4 days now, seems to have trouble with making his way around the walls of his enclosure. Meaning he seems to not get a good grip some of the time. I know that with my crested geckos they sometimes step in their food, it dries up, and it makes it tougher for them to get a grip, so i have to clean their feet off. I cant see anything happening like this with T's except for maybe their feces or dried substrate. Even if that is the case i couldnt even dream of this guy/girl letting me that close, nor would i want to unless it was a necessity for comfortability for the T and its care......now im just talking lol. Anyway, any input would be appriciated·

Haplopelma are ground dwellers usually burrowing so they're not designed for climbing plus even arboreal Ts have difficulties climbing smooth surfaces when they're in pre-moult. It's nothing to worry about but make sure that there is nothing that could hurt it if it falls.

Cool. Pretty much what my thoughts were. Theres nothing it can really hurt itself on if it takes a fall, and being that its a terrestrial T itis in a shorter cage with deeper substrate. I do have a question of topic of the H. Longipes.....my p. Cancerides which was just purchased recently seems to love the deli cup water bowl that was in the container i bought it in. On the way home and in store it was taking turns sitting in and out of the water bowl. Could it have been a little dehydrated while under care at the shop i got it from, or is this semi-normal behavior?

In regards to my last post, it may be helpful to mention that sense she made it home and into her cage she has not displayed this behavior.
