Hi all
After updating my other thread with not so good news lets bring something positive to the table.
I have been trying for some time to breed my Pseudhapalopus sp Colombia and finally did it.
Successful pairing on 26.02.2025 and second one on 24.03.2025.
Sack laid on 11.05.2025 after flooding half of the enclosure. Mum started with extensive digging and eventually sealing herself underground in her burrow.Temperature arround 25°C.
Pulled sack on day 29.Couple of dark eggs and everything else EWL.
Now with my bad experience I have split them in two cross ventilated pots. One pot with 1/3 of EWL in incubator over water and the rest in a pot in ventilated storage box over some damp coco fiber.I will monitor both closely but tbh my high hopes are in the storage box as more air flow and similar to conditions mum has in her enclosure.
Fingers crossed all works out this time.

Hi all
Time for update.
As previously the pot in the incubator didn't fair very well.So had to take it out and put both pots in the storage box.
Everything was going well untill the heatwave hit.
Then the temperatures spiked so did the humidity. As a result had a massive die off just before they moult into nimps. The issues carried on as due to size of those was not able to pick all bad(dead ) one's out wich later resulted in mould and after mite infestation. I have wrapped the pots in stockings to protect them from the gnats(flies) but mites a just to small and get everywhere. Those a just harmless soil mites that didn't attack the live slings but contributed further for the rotting matter in the pots so had to separate the nimps into individual sling pots. This is where the dramma stopped and things went better. So out of 450-500 slings managed to get around 100 separated.Later due to various reasons lost around 20 and now have around 80 ish proper slings that had their first meal of micro crickets.
Still quite a considerable loss on the total but better than last sack.Sincw then I have spoken wirh few seasoned breeders and got further advice how to inprove my incubation process so I achieve better results.
Its not the easiest of species to work with as they are tyni.
Its still a success non the less and I am happy .

It’s awesome that you saved the ones that you did. This thread could help a lot of users.

Never tried the substrate method for the incubator. I do the old school way of the stacked deli cups with water on the bottom. Any reason you went with the substrate method?

Last time I went with the water on bottom and humidity was too high and it ended up disaster.
This time the one in the incubator were o er water too.The ewl seemed visibly less active in it even with cross ventilation. I put the ewl just on the stocking both times.I was advised to use coffee filter as is supposed to do better than just stocking alone. Also was advised to lower temps instead of 26-28 to go for 23-24 °C .
With this sack the main issue was that due to size of slings and numbers was virtually impossible to clean bad ones and pots inevitably went too bad at end.The metod over substrate was recommended to me by another seasoned breeder I met at a show.He breeds a lot of different species and thought will give it a go.
Its all learning curve as Im just a hobbyist trying to elevate my skills and learn sth. This particular species comes from relatively dry area so too much humidity is not going to be very good I imagine for development. Unfortunately they a burrowers too so hatching with mum is not an option either. I have another gravid hopefully female now so will try to do better next time.
