Hi there, my beautiful big Acanthuscurria Ofelia went off for a while and obviously molted, she’s out today with a bent back leg, I’m really upset, I need to know was it something I did wrong for her?
She has a pretty good burrow but maybe it wasn’t big enough? She’s big now but I just was so surprised and upset that she has this and wonder if she will molt o.k next time? I can’t help wonder if something else is wrong too, she’s holding herself differently or am I just paranoid?

Looks like she had a problem molting...maybe got stuck. She should be fine. If she has a problem with the leg she may remove it on her own(the end of it). Otherwise it should molt back next time fine.

@Arachnoclown wow, that’s for that, I was so worried, that’s interesting info, it looks horrid but if it might solve it next time then that’s wonderful, that’s for your help.
@sdsnybny to be honest I’m embarrassed to say I call all my Ts her! Apart from the confirmed male that it:) so yes I’m more than happy to be told it looks male, it does look leggy doesn’t it, so from looks it’s male you think? Name change on the way. It’s interesting to know as I’ve never been able to hook a molt out so thank you.

Check for tibial hooks on the underside of the front leg at the knee joint and look at the end of the pedipalps for emboli. palps will no longer look tapered and the tarsal claws will be gone

I had noticed earlier on before I could see the back leg that the palps were noticeably club shaped, I mean very different from how they used to be so I’ll check also for the points you listed but it certainly sounds male. You can tell I’m a beginner, and I’ve never seen an adult acanthuscurria, I don’t know if He is now adult but I was amazed how big he is now! Blimey!

If it is a MM then the leg will not get repaired. The MM will not molt successfully again. If he is a MM find someone with a female close by to breed him with. The bad leg wont make any difference
