This little girl is about 2" and she's got a large appetite. I've been dropping in adult male B. lateralis every other day or every third day, and she pounces on them immediately. Each time I feed her I think to myself that I will wait a few days after so many big meals in a row, but each time I look in on her, she's out looking for food. Male B. lats don't have much mass to them, so today I thought I'd try a big fat juicy adult female and see what happens. Here is what happened:

I think I'll give her a few days off after that one, and I think I will stick to more manageable sized meals for her in the future.

Two days after that huge meal, she's sitting in her "feed me" area waiting for more manna from heaven to drop onto her plate.

How could I say no when she's begging like that? I tossed in a little dubia just to see if she'd even eat it. She did.

This is a big factor in why I like Brachys, and boehmei in particular. How many spp. , as juvies, sit on top of rocks and logs in full view, uncaring, moving slowly and deliberately, and just sit still while you hover over them, waiting for you to drop a taco in front of them..I mean yeah, there's a few..but are they as pretty as Brachys? Well, a few, yeah, there's the genic, chromatus, ...I lost my train of thought..
